Have you gone AWOL?

We sing the praises of Aaron Bruno and liked him in Under The Influence of Giants, but love him in AWOLNATION. It’s a riptide of head-banging dance beats, toe-tapping soul, biting lyrical cleverness and fiery rock romp that is poised to break all the rules of pop music. After their first performance here, the tunes were locked in on constant office rotation. Well they’re back on August 12^th and will no doubt unleash new songs. This show is paired well with a beverage in your hand and dancing shoes on your feet.

Classify it however you want, rock, punk, alternative…. The fact remains that Lady Sinatra produces killer songs and has a stage show that will turn your brain to mush. It’s an extra special night since it’s Joseph’s (aka @Loosefang) birthday show and with a lineup including LA favorites The Binges, The Glory Stompers and Box Squad, everyone attending is in for a treat.

This show is paired well with whiskey and ear plugs (to prevent brain melting)

Everclear played at the Viper Room…and then they walked away. Well, they were really much nicer about it than that [and yes, the song is stuck in our head]. We still can’t get over what a killer time everyone had on Sunday. Everclear put on an amazing show, people sang along, and it was great having them back in the room after 13 years. At 10:30am fans started lining up to see their favorite band and they definitely weren’t disappointed. Last night, The Smashing Pumpkins performed to a sold out room and it was electric. The show marked the debut of the new lineup and the audience was even treated to a few new SP songs!

The Diamond Light Heat Up With ‘Cold Moon’

Work It Out w/ Mickey Avalon: Get A lil’ Dirty To Help The Gulf Coast

In the spirit of Independence Day, nationwide concerts will be hosted by music venues on July 1st, 2010 to benefit those directly impacted by the Gulf Coast Oil Spill. The organizers have created an ambitious goal: Gather music venues around the country to donate ticket sales on July 1st and create an online giving platform that encourages donations to the relief efforts. The fundraising goal is set to $500,000, which will be directed to their nonprofit partner the Gulf Restoration Network, which provides assistance to the people, wildlife and wetlands affected as well as advocacy work throughout the Gulf Coast.

The Pink Spiders: Back Together on 6/20

In 2009 The Pink Spiders announced they were going on hiatus and people wept. On June 3, 2010, the band posted that all of the original(!) members had been playing together over the last few weeks and people rejoiced. Now, we are excited to announce that The Pink Spiders will be performing this Sunday, 6/20 — their first public show in over a year & in over 2 years with the original members.
